production

production
The transformation of resources, which include time and effort, into goods and services. Resources are understood always to be too scarce to provide for all wants and needs, so there is an emphasis on the efficiency of production, or productivity . Similarly, the costs of choosing certain goods and services are not measured by the money spent on them, but by the opportunity cost of the alternative uses of the available resources.
